Privacy Policy

The short version: I only collect your email if you give it to me, I use analytics to see how the site is doing, and I don't sell or share your data with anyone. The longer version is below.

Who I am

What I collect

• Your email address, only if you submit it through the newsletter form.
• Analytics data through Google Analytics 4: pages viewed, approximate location, device and browser type, and how you arrived at the site. This uses cookies or similar identifiers and is not tied to your name.
• Server logs such as IP address and browser details, kept by my hosting provider for security and troubleshooting.

How I use it

• To email you the newsletter, only if you signed up for it.
• To understand what people read and improve the site.
• To keep the site secure and working.

Who I share it with

I never sell or share my email list with anyone, not even my alter ego. A few service providers process data on my behalf: my hosting provider, my email service, and Google (for analytics, under its own privacy policy). I may also disclose information if the law requires it.

Cookies and analytics

Google Analytics uses cookies to measure traffic. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or install Google's Analytics opt-out browser add-on. Where the law requires your consent, analytics will only run after you agree.

The newsletter

Signing up is optional. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email, or by emailing me, and I'll remove you.

How long I keep it

I keep your email address until you unsubscribe or ask me to delete it. Analytics data is kept for a limited period set in my analytics settings.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR, UK GDPR or CCPA/CPRA), you may have the right to access, correct or delete your personal data, to object to how I use it, and to withdraw consent at any time. Email me and I'll take care of it.

Children

This site is not aimed at children under 16, and I don't knowingly collect their personal information.

Changes to this policy

If I change this policy, I'll update this page and the date at the top.
